Tauphilia
More data has made the Higgs->tau,tau channel look more like the standard model prediction.

Tauphobia
One of the slight deviations from SM expectations, in the data for the new CERN boson, is the lack of signal in the "tau-tau" channel. It would be rather ironic if this blog got a new lease on life because the Higgs turned out to be leptophobic. We should find out more in mid-November, when more data analysis is released.

Fermiophobia
In the standard model, the Higgs gives mass to the W and Z bosons and to the fermions, but in different ways. Theoretically you could have a Higgs which does the first but not the second (in which case the fermions must get their masses in some other way); this is called a "fermiophobic" Higgs. Today, a paper claims that a fermiophobic Higgs is favored by experiment.
